PNGDAC confirmation never arrived: what travellers should know

If you submitted your PNG Digital Arrival Card (PNGDAC) and never received a confirmation—no email, no reference number, no visible status update—you’re not alone. Many travellers encounter this issue, especially when submitting close to their arrival date or using unreliable internet connections. This article outlines concrete, verified steps to take—and what to avoid—when your PNGDAC confirmation never arrived.

First, verify your submission actually went through

The most common cause of a missing confirmation is an incomplete or failed submission. The official PNGDAC portal does not save partial entries. If your browser froze, timed out, or displayed an error message before reaching the final “Submit” screen, your application likely wasn’t processed. Check for these signs: If any of these apply, assume no valid submission occurred—even if you entered all required fields.

  • No unique 12-character reference number was displayed after submission
  • No automated email arrived at the address you entered (check spam/junk folders)
  • You closed the browser before seeing the green “Success” banner and download option for your PDF receipt

Confirm your email address and internet connection

The official PNGDAC portal sends confirmation emails automatically—but only to the exact address entered during submission. Typos (e.g., “gamil.com”, “hotnail.com”) or missing characters are frequent causes of silence. Also, some corporate or school email domains block automated messages from government portals. Use a personal Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo account when applying. Unstable mobile data or public Wi-Fi can interrupt the final server handshake. If you submitted via phone on a weak signal, resubmission may be necessary—even if the portal appeared to load the success page.

Resubmit only if needed—and within the allowed window

You may reapply for the PNGDAC at any time from 3 days before arrival, including the day of arrival. There is no penalty for multiple submissions. However, only your most recent valid submission counts. Previous attempts without confirmation are void. Do not wait until the last 24 hours unless absolutely necessary. Server traffic peaks near departure times, increasing timeout risks. Submitting 2–3 days pre-arrival gives you time to resolve issues before travel. If you resubmit, use the same passport details and email address. Do not change information unless it’s factually incorrect (e.g., flight number updated). Inconsistent data across submissions may delay verification at immigration.

What to do at Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport (or other entry points)

Carry proof of your attempt. Even without a confirmation email, screenshots of the final submission screen—including the timestamp, reference number (if visible), and “Submitted successfully” message—are accepted by PNG Immigration Officers as evidence of compliance. You may also log in to the official portal using your email and passport number to check real-time status. Access is available at https://pngdac.ica.gov.pg — but note: this requires the same credentials used during submission. If you have no record, no screenshot, and no email—even after checking spam—you must complete a new PNGDAC on-site. Free Wi-Fi is available in the arrivals hall, and kiosks or assistance desks are staffed. Processing takes 5–10 minutes if internet is stable.

About our service: pngarrivalcard.com

We are an independent application service for the PNG Digital Arrival Card (PNGDAC). We are not affiliated with the Government of Papua New Guinea, the Immigration and Citizenship Authority (ICA), or any official entity. Our role is to guide applicants through the official process and provide technical support—not to issue, approve, or guarantee outcomes. We charge $19 per traveller to help prepare and submit your PNGDAC via the official portal. This includes form review, error-checking, and direct email support for 72 hours post-submission. All applications are processed through https://pngdac.ica.gov.pg—the sole official source. We do not store passports, payment data, or biometrics beyond the minimum required to generate your submission. No approval is guaranteed. PNG Immigration retains full authority over entry decisions. We provide no legal advice, visa services, or guarantees of boarding or admission.

Can I get a refund if my PNGDAC confirmation never arrived?

No. Our $19 service fee covers preparation and submission support—not outcome assurance. If your confirmation email did not arrive, we will assist you in verifying submission status or resubmitting free of charge within 72 hours—provided you contact us with your order ID and email address used.

Does the official portal send reminders or follow-ups?

No. The PNGDAC portal sends one automated email upon successful submission only. It does not send reminders, status updates, or expiry warnings. You are responsible for checking your inbox, spam folder, and portal status directly.

What if I submitted twice and now have two reference numbers?

Only your most recent submission is valid. The earlier reference number is obsolete. Immigration systems recognise only the latest entry tied to your passport number and arrival date. Keep the most recent confirmation email and PDF receipt. Discard or ignore prior ones.
