Search the mailbox properly
Automated confirmations rarely use the subject line you expect. Search for the sending domain, and check spam, promotions and any secondary address you might have typed into the form. If a service filed for you, search their domain too.
The simplest fix is a new declaration
The PNGDAC is free and takes a few minutes. If you cannot find the confirmation and you are still inside the 3-day window, submitting again is faster and safer than hunting through old email at the airport.
If you are already at the airport
Jacksons International has self-service kiosks for travellers who did not complete the card. That solves the arrival side. It does not solve a check-in desk that wants the confirmation before issuing a boarding pass — so if you are still at your origin, file again on your phone before you reach the counter.
Keep a copy that survives
Screenshot the confirmation into your photo library and, if you use cloud storage, save it there too. That covers a deleted mailbox, a lost signal and a flat battery on a second device.
